COLONIZATION DESTROYED EVERYTHING AND GIVE YOU EVERYTHING

In an attempt to understand what I am saying that the whites have indirectly and directly taken over the land of Africa . You must come to understand that colonization of Africa by the whites wasn't only political and economical but it a total spiritual colonization of both land ,sea and air space that has affected all facets of the land of Africa and it people .It wasn't the people only that were colonized but the land and resources .The languages,the medicine,the food,and traditional religious beliefs ,educational system were colonized,Africa were totally drained ,sucked of her milk and honey by the Whiteman yet you still see the physical land very green but with stereotypic kings of the land with foreign staffs,caps and clothes prepared and designed by the Whiteman.Note that a real Africa king his authority or powers is not proven by show of certificate king whose court setup by the Whiteman can remove but a king for life
Historically When the land was not colonized by the white man the authority of the land was vested in a person who controlled the land as obong Ikpaisong.You don't take up the office but according the lineage it is not cult of the women but the men.
All village in Efik,Ibibio and Annang land had their Ikpaisong shrine which they believe to be the chief protector of their land against all evil.
According to the of the people ,women don't rule or have authority over the men and cant sacrifice to the gods of the land because they, are married to the land .She can be divorced anytime and they go to their father's house but men don't have anywhere to go,therefore they are custodian of the tradition and cultures of the people.Hence here men or male children are very important for heritage transfer. And traditionally and culturally, this deity( Ikpaisong) had priests not priestess who in the past maintained dual office priests/ kings of the land called" Mbong Ikpaisong" .As a priest he is the spiritual controller of the land and the people and as a king he handled the civil matters of the land as a sole administrative officer in pre-colonial times.
Each Ikpaisong shrine had an official priest,messengers and others in charge of the gods of the land according to lineage chosen by the deity itself.
During the colonial times ,they was a' cultural shift" from the traditional "mbong Ikpaisong" government who was the spiritual and physical king of the land and the head of all cult of the land to the British Indirect rule -chieftaincy' (Mbong Isong) government .This" cultural shift" from England has reduced the power of "mbong Ikpaisong which before maintained dual to one office "( the priests of the god of the land) and lifted up the newly created office of mbong Isong( Chief)/ administrator that favor the Britain Indirect rule.
Cultural shift is a sharp shift that comes in to play when a cultural pattern of a particular people or group move in other to overtake the or brought down to extinction the culture of the other group thereby weakening the culture of the other .And in most cases brought about the cultural war.
Now the" cultural shift" brought about cultural war between the foreign government practice and the indigenous Trado-cultural government not with the Britain but among the African people..
This has now divided the government of the land into two offices viz; the office of the Obong Ikpaisong and: the office of obong Isong . Yet until now this research revealed that some people in the land are still sticking to my ancestor pattern of government thought not official but other stick to the official British indirect rule government with Mbong Isong especially in the area studied.
Since the the office of obong Ikpaisong became silent and gradually extinct after 1964 gospel blow from the church of Christ, and the office of Obong Isong (chief) became prominent with entitlement.
The people wanted to go for the British government indirect rule because of the incentives attached to chieftaincy pattern .
More so it is cleaner than the mbong Ikpaisong which made their priests dirty and smelling with blood of animals always and at the smelling shrine
While the Obong Isong stayed in the palace and receive official people and settle matters of the land . This please the British government very well because they indirectly took over the government of area using indirect war they created between Obong Ikpaisong and obong Isong.
The obong Isong which the Whiteman called chief of the village or village head comes with new attire,with foreign staff of office,and certificate of authority.It comes with royalty and payment for work done for the British government for using our people for our people for their gain or advantages. The new Obong Isong i.e. chief were given bicycles ,good chairs in the palace different the Akakebede chair of obong Ikpaisong they made it official and the chiefs the official eyes to the Whiteman.
While the Obong Ikpaisong was the official eyes to the gods of the land.He handled the ritual/rulership of the village in pre-colonial era. They kept dual offices of the priest and king of the village.They was not war but harmony in the land as each person knows his duty in the land.the Ibok,mbiam,Idiong,ekpo,ndem,etc knew their duty but all submitted to Ikpaisong priest for ratifications. But a great cultural shif that shifted everything came in with the colonialists.What was that great division and cultural war between : Obong Ikpaisong and Obong Isong.
Obong Ikpaisong represents the culture and the tradition of the people and the obong Isong represent the British government and rendered the obong Ikpaisong impotent
They made the obong Ikpaisong , a ritualists and appeasers of the gods for them to kill,steal and destroy.They through the obong Isong gave the obong Ikpaisong many goat and hen to sacrifice for them when the gods got angry.They have corrupted the obong Ikpaisong they now leave their traditional lifestyle to the Whiteman their destroying themselves.The Whiteman will give them broiler instead of local fowl ,and will give them foreign gin instead their kaikai gin gradually,they began to eat rice and stew,foreign drinks ,change wears,etc .The obong Isong who is the eye of the British for administrative purposes of the village were used more than what we know. they were looking for who will work for them and they made them presentable to themselves not like the very dirty priests that handled the sacrificed and ritual of the land
The British government made the obong Isong officially /certificated chief while the other was only traditionally recognized and dreaded with kai,kai hot gin for prayers The mbong Ikpaisong were the most dreaded people in the land if they come to your compound,your dread because of the gods of land may send them message to you or blessings or terror
In the Efik, Ibibio , Annang , the deity Ikpaisong was a common deity responsible for the rejection and killings of the twins and their mothers which the Obong Ikpaisong and the chief were traditionally, culturally submitted to this deity .
When Mary Slessor came they was a cultural shift which led to cultural war but not a wrong one but a good one for saving lives with God intervention, she finds favor with some kings in Efik and Ibibio under the paramount chief called the Obong of Calabar at Efe Asabo(python chamber) who was the most senior representative of the Ikpaisong of the whole Cross River State of the South Eastern Nigeria which Ikpaisong Abiakpo Ikot Nsekong in Annang that exploded as Dr. Farrar preached was under the jurisdiction.
Mary Slessor collected those twins and cared for them. When the people saw that those twins were not evil as they thought they started changing their beliefs about the twins and their mothers as she preached the gospel of Jesus Christ to them and some of them were saved
She was not able to destroy the deity Ikpaisong but was able to save them by negotiating their deliverance/ redemption in the Efik/Ibibio speaking areas and was very nice to the chiefs by giving them biscuits,milk,tin fish,soup,perfumes and other foreign provisions( things that were not commonly used or seen in the area.
When Dr Henry Farrar came into Africa 1964,he didn't go to Efik and Ibibio speaking people of the then Cross River Basin where Mary Slessor spent her life to challenged Efe Asabo but to the ikpaisong in Annang and Ngwa speaking people in the same south eastern states .
Dr. Farrar started with the Annang and ending up in Ngwa land as he encountered directly and personally Ikpaisong: the deity responsible for the killings of the twins in Annang/ Efik /Ibibio of the South Eastern States. .
Eyewitness accounts/ oral history has it that, in July 1964 at Abiakpo Ikot Abasi Inyang Dr. Farrar encountered the twins loathed deity called Ikpaisong at its shrine in the very presence of the priests and messengers and it exploded like gunshot and the people said" the white man has gunshot our gods dead" confirming the word of God " creations itself is groaning waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God as happened that day at Ikpaisong shrine.(Rom.8:19-23)The reaction of the people brought the attention of the paramount chief in the South Eastern States Chief Marcus Udo Nsekong Abiakpo Ikot Abasi Inyang who was also the village chief and a clan head of Ikot Abia clan under the government of the Obong of Calabar in the then south eastern states of Nigeria.When Dr.Henry Farrar finished with the Chief Marcus Udo Nsekong, he ordered him to be baptized at Ikot Abia river as one of the first baptized clan head in the then South Eastern States.While he ministered to the highest Chief Marcus Nsekong, he explained the reason for worshiping God only on Sunday and that the obo market law must be abrogated.More so, through him(Chief Marcus Nsekong) a law that binds everyone in Efik, Ibibio and Annang people to Ekpenyong worship on obo market day were changed or abrogated. A law that Ete Nelson of the Qua Ibo Mission tried but the Ikot Nsekong people resisted and warned him even when the British government representative, Chief Umo Udo Otong in 1920 disobeyed by doing a little work on his farm outside his compound the people went and killed his sheep for breaking obo market day law. If they can do this to a British government representative in the land for breaking their traditional law, what about the common people. This British representative brought Pa Nelson and the Qua Ibo mission to the village at about 1918/19 but fully established church and school in 1920 at his compound.Yet the people valued Ekpenyong day of worship(Obo market day) more than a day for worshipping God which was Sunday, but God used Dr Henry Farrar of the United states of America,from the church of Christ got breakthrough in these areas of ministry until now Ikpaisong and Obo market law died and only Sunday became a day of worship for God in Africa .He also stopped some traditional medical practices like every first born son eat fowl for headache,etc.(Dr Farrar and traditional medical change in Africa.)and others.Now Christ reigns and some of those cultural practices gone.Praise the lord
The Ikpaisong kingship/priesthood authority was both the physical and the spiritual controller of the land and the people.
The office went beyond the physical kingship that you see to the spiritual kingship of the land.the priesthood of the land was vested in the hand of Obong Ikpaisong which was traced to the clearer of the forest ,the founder of the land. .In Annangland for example it was the twofold office of the priest/ king of the land. That is the physical and spiritual controller of the land.As a priest he controlled the spiritual transactions of the land and as a king he controlled the physical transactions of the land.ie the government of the land was in his hand.The name,obong Ikpaisong,lord of the land suggests that he controlled the spiritual authority of the land.The authority of the land is vested in his hand spiritually.More so in the physical realm the Obong Isong is the king of the land which governs the land and its people.The obong ikpaisong was also the obong isong combined authority.The spiritual and the physical authority of the land that must be feared.He was the most dreaded person in the land. He was not ruling alone but with different mbongs (lords) in the land which centered around him.
What you may call today,counselors,in the local government,commissioners in the state government and ministers in the federal government isn't a white man from of government but very traditional the Africa.
The Obong Ikpaisong being the sole spiritual head of the land,work with others mbongs(lords) or priests in the land. They were priests of Ibok,called and addressed as mbia,Ibok which were are now name native doctors .they work with obong Ikpaisong before they function.they land must give Ibok space to operate,hence if he does wickedness the Ikpaisong who is the supreme power of the land will arrested Ibok and punish him.therefore the obong Ibok (mbia Ibok will respect the authority of Ikpaisong deity and must not go beyond the space given for operations. They were priests of mfa Abia Idiong,(divination)Abia edim(rain doctor) mbiam,if you tell lie mbiam will catch you.
So when the colonization of Africa took place,it wasn't only the physical indirect rule but religious and political and economic and social and spiritual indirect rule that has totally controlled African.
If a man controlled your language he has successfully controlled the totally of your being,and directly given to you all totally of his culture and traditions.
When they colonized our land for example,the obong Ikpaisong lost his greatest office,to the British government offices of obong Isong
Then there was a shifted responsibility and focus to the British government,language,culture,dressing,marriage,food,medicine etc.
In the other hand,there Romans took over the religious controlled of our land by coming with their religious beliefs and replaced our beliefs system under the influence of the queen of heaven and married finally the ikpaisong system which was controlled by mbong Ikpaisong. They made you hand over your priesthood authority to them by bringing their priesthood system that replaces your system,and made it sound superior to your priesthood system. other to steal your priesthood system and authority they brought in their system in Latin and controlled your languages,brought in their ghosts or the departed and replaced your ghosts or ancestors.they brought in their priesthood authority to replace your priesthood.Secretly made your children to be their priests using them to control the spiritual transactions of the land rendering the obong Ikpaisong office ceremonial by their craft.They used your young people into the training into all the priesthood of the land and initiating them in to all the priesthood of the land in a religious way and because they are your children,they made you believe that there are more superior to you as a priest using them to control your land for the Romans.
As if that is not enough,if I say nothing is left,I mean they white colonized all.The aspect of medical science the mbia Ibok(native doctors) is not left out,it was lost to Indians,almost all native doctors in the land are looking up to India for power for healing and deliverance.there is no native doctor now in Annang or Igbo land that never boasts of the power of India.Before it was the roots and leave that were traditional to them that were used in the crafts but now it is India incense,powder,oil,talisman,charms for business,love portions,etc.what our native doctor are using now are borrowed from India temples .
More so the spiritual oil used in churches are from India temples ,it is not natural but borrowed from Hindus shrine.The candle and oil for ritualistic activities are borrowed.what do you have,it is borrowed.
The system is completely different from the one that you claim to be born . In the traditional African native doctors/medicine, there was no foreign oil but Adam isip called mayaha,is palmkenel oil cooked,but now it is foreign oil for native doctors work,they were using only leaves,herbs,barks of trees,roots,water from different water sources,soils and the spirit of the departed ancestors for their work.Now almost all the instruments of Africa native doctors used are borrowed including the clothes they wear.Are you calling that you traditional medicine or juju. Infact, the witcraft now is not Africa again but the white..destroyed yourselves for the white man advantage and be poor forever in the physical but rich in the spirit.This is what happened,just like the gospel of Jesus Christ which was wrongly presented to us here that,you don't need to have any good thing here on earth so that you will have good thing in heaven.this was a witchcraft gospel.Because in their heavens they have all the good thing stolen from people there but here they are poor and pitiable. Therefore let us returned to God,for your ancestors looked for help from God before they died.Now were do you thinks they will get help for you.Return full to the real God through Jesus Christ If not the physical,spiritual,economical,mystical ,scientific,technological etc colonialists will forever used their things to control your life and your land.For example there is no home in Africa that china is not colonized through torch light .were are your traditional tonyo ,that you used to put palm oil .Is it working again. May we returned to God and for help and direction.
