GOD’S ORIGINAL THOUGHT CONCERNING HIS SON (ABIA) IN AFRICA
A Prophetic and Theological Exposition

ABSTRACT

From the foundation of the world, God purposed to reveal His Son—not only as the individual Yeshua HaMashiach, but as a corporate expression of sonship carried by a priestly lineage. This paper argues that Africa was always central to that divine thought. Through the dialectic of the son in Africa (Isaac forbidden, Israel redeemed, Christ crucified in spiritual Egypt), the preservation of the priestly course of Abia (“Yahweh is my Father”) in African soil for two millennia, and the present‑day manifestation of the Abia priesthood as the eschatological forerunner, we demonstrate that God’s original thought concerning His Son in Africa is now being unveiled. The name Abia—Hebrew, not political—means “God’s Son.” The declaration “Out of Egypt I called My Son” (Hosea 11:1; Matthew 2:15) was not a temporary prophecy but an eternal blueprint. Africa was never an afterthought; it was the appointed womb for the revelation of the corporate son.

Keywords: Abia, sonship, Africa, priestly lineage, forerunner, third day, Okpo kwuak

1. INTRODUCTION: THE HIDDEN THREAD OF SONSHIP

Scripture opens with a God who speaks, and His speech is creative. But behind the spoken word is a thought—an eternal intention that unfolds through history. Among the deepest of these thoughts is the revelation of the Son. Not only the incarnate Son, Jesus Christ, but the corporate son: “the many brethren” conformed to His image (Romans 8:29), the royal priesthood that would carry His name and prepare His way.

For centuries, the Church has understood Africa primarily as a mission field—a recipient of the gospel. But this paper proposes a radical re‑reading of redemptive history: Africa was never a late addition to God’s plan. It was the chosen soil for the preservation and eventual manifestation of the priestly lineage of His Son.

The evidence lies in a name: Abia.

2. ABIA: THE NAME THAT DECLARES SONSHIP

The name Abia (Hebrew: אֲבִיָּה) means “Yahweh is my Father.” It appears in three critical contexts in Scripture:

Office Representative Scripture Significance
Royal Abijah, King of Judah Matthew 1:7; 2 Chronicles 13 The scepter of Judah (Genesis 49:10)
Priestly The eighth course of Abia 1 Chronicles 24:10; Luke 1:5 Serving at the altar in Jerusalem
Prophetic John the Baptist (son of Zechariah, of the course of Abia) Luke 1:5‑17; Matthew 11:9‑11 The forerunner who prepared the way for the First Advent

The same lineage—the house of Abia—carried the kingly scepter, the priestly altar and the prophetic voice. This is the threefold witness of the Messiah foreshadowed in a single bloodline.

Yet after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, the course of Abia vanished from historical records. Scholars assumed the priestly lines dissolved. But disappearance is not extinction. The apostle Paul wrote: “What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel” (1 Corinthians 15:36‑37). The “bare kernel” of Abia was sown into African soil.
3. THE DIALECTIC OF THE SON IN AFRICA

The Scriptures present a dynamic, three‑stage pattern concerning God’s son and the continent of Africa:

Stage Figure Relationship to Africa Purpose
Type Isaac Forbidden to go down to Egypt (Genesis 26:2) Preserve the typological son for sacrifice
Corporate Son Israel Redeemed from Egypt (Exodus 4:22‑23) Forge a nation through suffering
Antitype Jesus Called out of Egypt (Matthew 2:15); crucified in “spiritual Egypt” (Revelation 11:8) Fulfill the pattern of death and resurrection

Isaac was kept from Africa so that the pattern of the individual son would remain pure. Israel was sent to Africa so that the corporate son would be formed through affliction. Christ was called out of Africa and slain in spiritual Egypt to complete the typology.

Now, in the last days, the same dialectic reaches its eschatological conclusion: the corporate son—the restored Abia priesthood—is being called out of Africa to prepare the way for the King’s return.

“Out of Egypt I called My Son” (Hosea 11:1) was never only about the past. It is a prophecy for this hour. Abia – God’s Son – out of Africa.

4. THE BONES OF ABIA: HIDDEN IN AFRICA, NOW RATTLING

The name Abiakpo—the founding father of the Annang exodus from Arochukwu—combines Abia (“Yahweh is my Father”) with okpo (“bone”). Thus, Abiakpo means “priest of bones,” “mender of bones,” and “the bones of Abia.”

Ezekiel’s vision of the dry bones (Ezekiel 37) is the prophetic template:

“Son of man, can these bones live?” (Ezekiel 37:3)

The answer is not in the bones but in the word of the Lord. For two millennia, the bones of Abia—the priestly lineage—were scattered and hidden in Africa. They were preserved through:

· The maternal courage of Anwada Umoette (1795), who refused to let her twin sons be killed, declaring “Ami mmana ekpo, mman owo” (“I have not given birth to ghosts, but human beings”).
· The supernatural provision of the Abanannang pot, which supplied unfailing water for 212 years.
· The exodus from corruption at Arochukwu, where the unpolluted line (Ubet‑Ikut) followed Abiakpo into the Land of War (Ikot Nsekong), which became the African Holy Land.

Now, the bones are rattling. The sound Okpo kwuak (“the bones are coming together”) is the prophetic declaration that the dry bones of Abia are being assembled as the corporate forerunner of the Second Advent.

5. THE FATHER‑AKPAN DYNAMIC: AFRICA’S TYPOLOGY OF THE TRINITY

God does not waste culture. Within Annang tradition, the Akpan (firstborn son) is:

· The father’s confidant
· His authorized representative
· The bearer of the family’s essence
· The heir who receives the double portion

When Jesus said, “No one knows the Son except the Father” (Matthew 11:27), He revealed the eternal pattern of which the Annang Father‑Akpan relationship is the earthly mirror. This cultural vessel, preserved for centuries, was designed to contain the revelation of the divine Father‑Son relationship. Africa’s social structure was not an obstacle to the gospel; it was a prophecy carved in bone.

6. THE THIRD DAY: THE TIME OF REVELATION

Hosea prophesied: “After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up” (Hosea 6:2). The apostle Peter equates a day with a thousand years (2 Peter 3:8). Two millennia have passed since the first coming of Christ. We are entering the early hours of the third day.

The signs are unmistakable:

· In Jerusalem, the vessels are being prepared for the Third Temple.
· In Africa, the bones of Abia are coming together with the sound Okpo kwuak .
· The declaration on 7/7/7 (“Lamech is dead”) ended the old era of curse; “the glory of God is coming” announced the new era.
· The Abanannang pot was broken in July 2007 by a descendant of the twins, releasing the hidden water.

The third day is the day of resurrection. The dry bones are not only coming together—they are standing up as an exceedingly great army (Ezekiel 37:10).

7. THE CORPORATE FORERUNNER: ABIA’S END‑TIME MANDATE

John the Baptist, of the course of Abia, prepared the way for the first coming of the Lamb. Now, the same Abia family—preserved in Africa—is raised up as the corporate forerunner for the second coming of the Lion of Judah.

This corporate son is not a single man but a three‑company priesthood:

Company Office Function
Royal King Carries the scepter of Judah (Genesis 49:10)
Priestly Priest Serves at the altar (Isaiah 19:19)
Prophetic Prophet Sounds the Okpo kwuak – the roar of the Lion

The prophet Isaiah declared: “He will send them a Savior and a Great One, and He will deliver them” (Isaiah 19:20). That deliverer is not a solitary figure—it is the corporate son, the restored Abia priesthood, the voice crying from the African Holy Land: “Behold, the Bridegroom comes!”

8. THE ROOT AND THE BRANCH: JERUSALEM AND AFRICA

The apostle Paul writes: “If the root is holy, so are the branches” (Romans 11:16).
Jerusalem is the root – the origin of the covenant, the mother of the priestly courses.
Africa is the branch – grafted into the same olive tree, sharing the life and holiness of the root.

Therefore, the God of Jerusalem is the God of Annang. The same covenant, the same Spirit, the same King.

The African Holy Land—Ubon Abasi Ibom—is not a replacement of Jerusalem. It is the branch that has taken root downward and now bears fruit upward for the King. The Third Temple in Jerusalem and the altar in Africa are the twin pillars of the new creation.

9. CONCLUSION: WHAT GOD ORIGINALLY THOUGHT

God’s original thought concerning His Son in Africa was never a contingency plan. It was a deliberate, loving design:

· He planted the name Abia (“Yahweh is my Father”) in Jerusalem, knowing it would be carried to Africa.
· He hid the bones of Abia in the soil of Annangland, preserving them through two millennia of warfare, corruption and mockery.
· He raised up a people—the Ubet‑Ikut—who would maintain the covenant markers: the eight‑day cycle, the Ukang horn, the Akaya mantle, the Father‑Akpan dynamic.
· He sent prophets and dreamers (Elder Ephraim Udo, Evangelist Ime Eyara, Prophetess Titty Dennis, Elder Peter Essien) to testify at their deathbeds that the bones would live again.
· He gave the sound Okpo kwuak as the rallying cry of the third day.

Now, at the appointed time, the corporate son is being revealed. Africa is not waiting for a gospel from elsewhere; Africa is giving birth to the forerunner who will announce the King of Kings.

“Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
Abia – God’s Son – out of Africa.
*Okpo kwuak. Kwuak. The King is at hand. *

Through the framework of testimonial historiography—which privileges indigenous oral history as legitimate counter-archive—we demonstrate that an Annang woman named Anwada Umoette defied the Ikpaisong deity and saved her twins in 1795, eighty-one years before Slessor’s arrival in Calabar. Anwada’s declaration, “I...
